Located in downtown Lynchburg, Amazement Square opened in 2001 and is the city’s first children’s museum. Housed in a Civil War-era building that served as an infirmary and warehouse, the museum is designed to help kids learn through hands-on interaction and play.
Liberty senior Olivia Englert is a development intern at the museum this semester. She and other staff members completed autism training. Read on for some ideas.

Events
The award-winning museum knows that creative play is one of the most important ways kids learn and grow. It’s why it offers four floors of hands-on interactive exhibits where kids can paint on the walls, explore life on the farm, create a rainstorm over downtown Lynchburg, float a boat down the James River, or even rock out on stage in a band of their own!
